And the verdict is that there is no verdict. Mystery illness! I went to the hospital today to get checked out, finally. Oh, by the way, I've been sick in bed for a week with high fever, etc. I just remembered I never posted about that because I've been sick as a dog. Also, on a side note, the boss is rockin my world right now. The new album is good. Anyway, so this little Asian doctor man walks into my examining room, which is a little area sectioned off by a curtain, of course, and he does his doctorly things and then he says, "Well, I don't know what's wrong with you. But I'll prescribe you some Vicadin." And so he did. Vicadin for a fever? Kind of like using a bazooka to kill a bird, dontcha think? I think it's hilarious. I actually wish I could have video recorded that examination. Well, I doubt I'll get the prescription filled but the idea of being totally knocked out and sleeping through the night, not waking up freezing and miserable is pretty appealing. But medicine is expensive when you don't have health insurance. I'll save it for a rainy day. I am feeling better today though. Ive been saying that for four days now and it always comes back and bites me in the ass. But. Last time I took ibuprofen it was 4:30 this morning and now it's 11:15ish and I feel ok. Fingers crossed. That's all I'm gonna say about it.
That's the big news from me for the past week. Oh! But one day while I was "feeling better" I traveled to Arcata and visited with Megan Naseman! It was so delightful to see Berea folk. But weird too. Cause it was kind of a chance meeting via our blogs. Neither of us knew the other was out west until she happened to check my blog. And then I looked at hers and saw that she happened to be coming to Arcata for Thanksgivin' break! So that was awesome, definitely a spirit lifter. Cheerio, Megan! Hope you made it back to Seattle safe and sound.
Well, that's about all I've got folks. I'm gonna go veg out on the couch and watch movies all day, take one more day of rest and hopefully, hopefully, I am on the mend. Take care, everyone.
love
Jess
