Hello all.
Today marks the 11th day we've been on the road and I am tired! I think we may have drank some bad water at Point Reyes National Seashore, as our campsite was backcountry. We've both been feeling a bit under the weather lately, though I can't determine if it's nerves or simply that I miss home and friends, or both.
Tomorrow is the end of this journey and the beginning of my job. Right now we are in Arcata, which is about a 45 minute drive south from where I'll be living in Orick. It's a college town and seems to be full of neat folks, though we remain lonely and starving for the company of kids our age. Since June 2nd we have stayed in the Colorado National Monument, then with friends in Provo, Utah, then we drove straight across half of Utah and all of Nevada and landed at Lake Tahoe, which was beautiful but horribly cold and snowy. From Lake Tahoe we drove through San Francisco and up to Point Reyes National Seashore, where we stayed two nights and then we drove up to Humboldt Redwoods State Park where we also stayed two nights. and that was last night and now we are here. All of these places are indescribably beautiful. I can't wait to upload the pictures we have taken and share them with you.
So. I think we have city shock. It feels strange to be in a town that is so busy when we have been so relaxed every day with nothing to do, nowhere to be, no commitments to keep. Those things are nice. It feels like we've been on the road for so long I think it will be strange to settle down but I am looking forward to it.
Well, I think we're aching to move on so I'll catch you all on the flip side. As always, thanks for checking in.
I miss you all.
Love
Jess
