The Winds Shift But We Are Left Behind

Another slow day at the office. I finally had to get my IT security training done; I had to have it done by tomorrow or I would've lost my computer access. Eek! But no worries, all is well. We are now sitting in our cubicles waiting to find something to do. I've been sitting here on this computer since 7 this morning. It's now going on ten and I'm running out of things to search for on google. Needless to say, I am bored. I think we're getting ready to do some laser range finder maintenance and also learn more about the GPS units, like how to fiddle with them and make them bend to our will and the like. Then we might enter our plot data into the computer and go watch the roads and trails crew tear out a road somewhere. That whole process is really fascinating; I'm pretty excited to see it in action. Other than that, I don't know a thing. I was going to work tomorrow but I have to take my car to Eureka so they can replace the CD player which broke last Friday. Looks like I'll be on my own for this trip so I'm thinking I'll just spend the day and part of the evening in the city if I can find a good coffee shop or a musical performance that seems interesting. It'll be nice to get out and explore there; I think I like Eureka more than Arcata, though they are both really neat little towns.
Anyway, I better get goin. I remain in good spirits and health for the most part. I realized the other day that what I am missing in my life out here are women! I live with men, work with men. I haven't talked to a woman one on one for over a month! So hopefully I'll meet some cool gals in the city sometime, or here. I don't know. They're out there and I shall find them to balance out this testosterone sausage fest I'm in the middle of! (Don't get me wrong, l love these guys. They're all great guys, but, you know how it goes) Anyway, I miss and love all of you very much! Hope everyone is doing well.

Love
Jess
